May Student of the Month

Let's Celebrate our May Students of the Month.

Melanie Cruz-Pineda - Grade 10

Sophomore Melanie Cruz-Pineda is a dedicated and compassionate student who truly represents the values of LWTHS. She appreciates the school’s respectful and supportive environment, where both students and teachers are committed to learning and growth. “I believe that student success comes from determination, discipline, responsibility, and being actively involved in school,” says Melanie.

Melanie has a passion for history, enjoying how it helps explain the world and teaches so many important life lessons. Outside of school, Melanie volunteers at her local public library, helping others and giving back to her community.

She is excited to be enrolled in the Practical Nursing program next year and plans to attend Florida State University to become a pediatric nurse, driven by her desire to support and advocate for children.

“Although Melanie is often quiet, she works well with others, is always willing to help, and shows kindness and generosity when classmates need support. Her calm presence always has a positive impact on those around her.”

Annalees Corporan - Grade 11

Junior Annalees Corporan is a positive and driven student who brings kindness and energy to the LWTHS community. Her favorite subject has always been writing. “Writing allows me to express my creativity and share my ideas with others,” she says.. She believes that being a successful student means pushing forward even when things feel overwhelming, showing both resilience and determination.

Annalees is actively involved in Student Council, showing leadership and school spirit. Outside of school, she stays busy playing volleyball and beach volleyball, and working as a lifeguard – activities that reflect her strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.

Although she is currently enrolled in Accounting at Lorenzo Walker Technical College, her career goal is a bit different. Annalees plans to attend Florida International University. Her goal is to become a speech therapist, inspired by her own experience with speech therapy and her desire to help children gain confidence in expressing themselves.

"Annalees approaches her work with a positive mindset and doesn’t give up when things are difficult. She is responsible, dependable, and sets a great example for her classmates through her effort and teamwork."

Shana Tidor - Grade 12

Shana Tidor is a passionate and dedicated student who exemplifies excellence at LWTHS. This outgoing senior appreciates the strong support system provided by her teachers throughout her four years, which has helped her grow both academically and personally.

Shana enjoys English class, where she can develop her communication skills and express herself effectively. This enthusiasm for learning is evident in both her classwork and her everyday attitude. “True success comes from being passionate in everything you do,” says Shana, who demonstrates this mindset every day.

As Senior Class Historian, Shana plays an active role in her school community, showing leadership and commitment. Outside of school, she is involved with the Naples Woman’s Club, further reflecting her dedication to service and community involvement.

Currently enrolled in the Dental Assisting program, Shana plans to continue her education at FSW to pursue Dental Hygiene. Her goal is to become a dental hygienist and provide care to underserved populations who may not otherwise have access to dental care.

“Shana comes to school each day with a positive attitude and believes in herself and others. Her kindness and determination help create a supportive classroom, and she sets a great example by not giving up.”
